UK Status
Resident. Mainly a northern and moorland species
where it can be
common and fairly widespread, but it is also found at low levels in
several isolated localities in the south of England.
Montgomeryshire Status
Recorded first near Drum Ddu in the north of the county. This species
is probably rather overlooked due to its moorland habitat.

M, 18-25mm. F, 14-21mm.
Confusion species
A fairly distinctive species.

Moorland and mountains.
Foodplant
Not perfectly known, but it has been found on crowberry and heather.
Lifestage data
Eggs laid on foodplant. The Larva feeds from a silken tube low down on
the plant. Pupation details unknown. |
